poor sweet misty the cow lost her baby and is just devastated, so we’re getting her a replacement baby from a dairy farm.

the nice farmer suggested that we skin the stillborn calf and make this calf wear the dead baby’s hide like a horrible flesh cape to fool misty into thinking this is her baby, which the shepherd tells me is, in fact, a fairly common practice. we will not be doing this.
