Time to take some ownership of #disability organisations to ensure they do have disabled people at the top.

Here's a few thoughts:
1. ask your service provider if they have #disabled people on their board.
If they do have #disabled people on the board, do we make up half of the board?

If not, why not?

Are there #disabled people on the executive / management team?

If not why not?

#disability #leadership
If yes, do #disabled people make up at least half of the executive / management team?

(international benchmarks)

Does your #disability service provider have an Inclusion Plan (as recommended for all companies by @Deloitte)?
Is the Inclusion Policy owned and monitored by the board as a high level strategy document?

#disability #leadership
How is the Inclusion Policy contributing to culture shift in your #disability service provider?

Is there tracking of data over time?
As #NDIS participants we have the right, and capacity, to be asking these questions of any service provider who wants our business. Time to think about where the power sits in this market.

If your #disability service provider (including the #NDIS) can't answer these questions find out why not.

These are international benchmarks.
What are they doing TODAY to develop and implement an Inclusion Policy so that they do achieve 50+% of board and executive / management positions?
How is there current situation different (improved) from this time last year? What have they done to achieve greater levels of #disability #leadership and is it working?
If they cannot answer these questions why should you be giving them your business? Why should you be handing over your #NDIS funds to an organisation that isn't inclusive and has no plans to be so?
