Alastair Campbell plot thickens, because what he did isn't against the rules. He only talked about voting LibDem after the polls had closed, so he couldn't possibly have influenced the election (outcome unless Labour are accusing him of having a time machine stashed in his shed).
Given that, it's easier and easier to draw the conclusion that this was a pure "dead cat" strategy designed to use the "scandal" of Alastair Campbell's ousting to distract from the launch of the official enquiry into anti-semitism in Labour.
