Kogi State University has had its share of run ins with “cultists” and armed robbers recently, kids are scared to live on campus now😞. This security guard is still in the hospital after getting AXED to the head 😔. #Nigeria

A good friend of mine would’ve gotten hacked with a cutlass if it weren’t for one of the cultists recognizing him and stopping the assailant. & Just yesterday one of the students was Killed in a attempted robbery. Pray for Nigeria, succeeding is hard enough let alone surviving 😣

Another reminder that we 1st gen Afircan kids can’t really Afford to not be great, it’s a burden, but we have to make it and give back. Some of these people have no hope, no parents, and no sense of security. I used to get mad at my cousins for thinking I grew up rich here.

But compared to some of their issues, wallah were far better off, if not living lavish. The elders & parents don’t even encourage dream chasing a lot of the time because no one can afford to be a screw up. Meanwhile we double major in sumtn just to complain it’s not our “passion”

Then theres always that moment growing up when Mom’s unwavering compulsion to send money back home got in the way of some new shoes, man oh man did I find everyway to dislike some of my relatives that were in need. 3 am phone rings would infuriate me, cuz I knew it was a request.
