First, my heart and prayers go out to the most recent victims of this madness that’s happening at our work places and schools.
The ironic part about all of this to me is back when I lived a street life and had to “hustle and grind” to make groceries,

They would all tell me that if I wanted to beat the odds and skew the stats I’d have to go back to school, get a job, and square up. It seemed I was constantly being told that I was going to lose my life out there in them streets. Well, guess what? #VirginiaBeachShooting

Now that I’ve went back to school, got a job, and squared up…. the odds of me returning home from work alive are pretty much where they were back when I was living that other life. 🙄 Today, I feel safer walking the streets of my “hood” than I do at work. #notsafe #guns

My grandma and mom were scared to death to send us to the corner store as kids for fear of us not coming back. Now, I’m scared to death to send my children to school out of fear of them not making it back alive. #ResistTogether #ResistanceRises #MAGA ????<----

I’m going to be brutally honest- I’m am relieved as hell that my 6-year-old and 16-year-old had their last day of school yesterday and my 18 yr. old cousin is graduating today. #ResistTogether #ResistanceRises #MAGA ????<----

Why? Because now while I'm at work I only have to worry about 2 people not making it home- myself and my wife- all because one of our co-workers or ex-coworkers snapped! The words that an older guy in my hood would say resonate so deeply with me in these times we're living in...

Dude used to tell me that it doesn’t matter if we make it out of the “hood” or not because the world is a ghetto. . I feel safe as hell when I clock out of work and make it back to my hood. #ResistTogether #ResistanceRises #MAGA ????<----

The same survival tactics that were given to me as a child to survive in the hood are the same ones I’m now giving to my kids to survive at "school." And to think that people have the audacity to call "our" neighborhoods the jungle. The irony. #ResistTogether #ResistanceRises

You know what? I don’t even know what to tell my kids about this life anymore. I keep it real with my kids. Therefore, I’d feel like the biggest hypocrite telling them to stay in school to get a good job and thus they’ll never have to witness
