I did an experiment. I didn't try to do this experiment it just happened. After the mid terms Rush was impossible to listen to crying "muh we are all doomed" so I turned him off. This last week, I've listened to a whole show for the 1st time since Nov. Now if those that believe
Censorship and "Propaganda" work are correct, my views should have changed during that self imposed censorship period. I turned off most of the news/opinion shows all together tbh. I even took major breaks from Twitter during some of this time.
All of this should have changed me according to the Censorship/safe places types. It didn't. I still believe exactly what I believed in Nov. I still support Trump. I'm 100% sure the result would be the same if I turned on CNN for those months. The fact is for a person to change..
....their world view a specific "truth" must be exposed that allows them to see things in a different light. This truth starts the journey. To change a person you don't make them woke, you expose them to a universal "truth". Being woke is just another form of confirmation bias.
Being woke is just reaffirming you POV with additional propaganda that fits your already set world view. Being woke in other words is just a nice way of saying you have been indoctrinated and are getting more indoctrinated.
The absence of propaganda doesn't wake people up or change them. Censorship doesn't stop people from learning universal truth. Many of these truths are discovered simply by living life. The less you live life the less truth you discover, both good and bad truths.
Some call this truth common sense. It's as good as any term. You don't learn common sense sitting in a cave shackled to a bench watching shadows on the wall. You do however get more woke to the shadows. It's when you escape the cave and go out into the world you start to learn.
You start to see things like weather and if you stay out of the cave for years you start to understand climate. You see the sun rise and set. You start to see how animals interact with their environment, how mothers protect their young, how dogs mark their territory.
You experience love and betrayal. You face hunger, lust, desire and greed. You begin to devise ways to avoid or embrace those emotions. Those interactions with the world teach you simple truths on how people react to each other. How society functions.
This is a stressful process. It brings happiness and sadness, pain and pleasure. As long as people leave the cave censorship will never work because life happens.

Of course you can decide to stay in the cave and stay woke watching the pretty shadows on the walls.
As long as you have the choice to stay woke watching the shadows or go live you life things are fine. It's when those in the cave use force to keep you in the cave that problems begin, because regardless of what the woke cave watchers tell you, life continues outside the cave.
And the more woke you get in the cave the more defenseless u are to that life outside the cave. The more dangerous that life becomes to u, the less able you are to protect yourself from it. Sooner or later a unwoke bear or a pack of wolves will come and make your cave theirs.
Who knows, maybe they are so woke when the unwoke comes a calling they will be able to wake that bear or pack of wolves before they are eaten? Stranger things have happened but I don't think that is a good long term plan.
But that's just my thoughts on censorship, propaganda, wokeness, caves, pretty shadows, and life experience as always think as you will. That's the beauty of being free after all.
