Since doing a bunch of reading about breathing a while ago, I’ve found myself doing extra-deep breaths from time to time (for eg when I get up to go to pee). And maybe it’s a placebo or something but I do feel more alert or less lethargic. Too early to be anything meaningful
So I’ve done some casual reading but haven’t gone super in-depth, and here is a totally kooky amateur thought that’s probably completely wrong:

It’s possible to breathe more than not, right?

A day of deep breathing is a day of literally *more* breathing than a day of shallow...
We know that the body naturally falls into homeostasis, and severe hyperventilation and hypoventilation are both bad

But what happens when it’s mild? What does a 3-5% hyperventilated state do, when your normie homeostasis... state is sedentary...? I have no idea what I’m saying

The particularly wild thing to me is how *casual* she is about this stuff. It’s totally normal for her to just hack things. I f I did *one* thing like this I would be swelling with pride at my ingenuity, but she doesn’t even think about it. It’s just how she is

Here’s my #1 rec for @twitter: realize that quote tweets are a killer feature of your product. Add it as a separate part of notifications besides All and Mentions. And separate it from RTs. Ie make it “likes, RTs, QTs”. Sounds radical? It’ll push this game into hyperdrive
Imagine if you could click on one of your tweets and see all the quote tweets of it. You can kinda do a clunky attempted workaround by searching for your tweet via URL but that’s a crappy UX and sometimes just doesn’t work

no! 5 *instances* of your tweet being quoted. You can start doing threads *in reverse*. With different threads that lead to the same *destination*. completely different way of thinking

I’ll tell you exactly when it happened:

It was the Iraq War, and there were protests all the time. The protests that attracted the passion, tho, were anti-Israel protests, featuring the most grotesque Jew-hatred I’d ever seen outside of history books.
The glorification of terrorists—straight-up, legit killers—on murals, the walls of coffee shops and bars, was ever-present. I was in NY for 9/11, and the moral equivalence was already getting repulsive in the months after the attacks. But San Francisco was *nuts*.
