1/ For this week's episode, we sent reporters to the *literal* ends of the earth to report on climate change.

Here's what they saw ... revealnews.org/episodes/to-th…
2/ Air Force Col. Dan Lemon looks out the window of a small military plane en route to Tin City, Alaska, where a U.S. military radar overlooks the Bering Sea. (@mdy1, @KUNC public radio)
3/ A @PistenBullyUSA with tank treads and plow sits atop the snow-covered mountain that is home to a U.S. radar station in Tin City, Alaska, on the Bering Strait. (@mdy1, @KUNC public radio)
4/ Investigative reporter @mdy1 at the Tin City Long Range Radar Station in Alaska, with a view of the Bering Sea in the distance. Some of these radars have been endangered by climate change. (Defense Department photo by Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Brandon Raile.)
5/ Here's @carolynbeeler on an island just off the coast of West Antarctica. She took off from Chile on a ship called the Nathaniel B. Palmer with about 60 scientists.

Their goal: inspect a glacier whose melt may have serious consequences for global sea levels.
6/ Chief scientist Rob Larter of the British Antarctic Survey looks out at Thwaites Glacier on the morning the Nathaniel B. Palmer arrived at its face.

“This is a critical boundary in the world today,” Larter said. – @carolynbeeler
7/ The irregular shapes and downward slope characteristic at the face of much of Thwaites glacier are signs of its instability.

Crevasses and low points mark sites where future icebergs may calve. – @carolynbeeler
8/ In Kivalina, Alaska, crosses poke out of the snow and cast long shadows in the early spring sunshine.

Rising sea levels here are likely to completely flood gravesites like these in less than a decade. – @EmilySchwing
9/ A wolf pelt and skins from other animals hang in the wind outside Lucy Adams’ door in Kivalina.

She uses the fur to make mukluks, ruffs for parkas and other traditional clothing. – @EmilySchwing
10/ More than 40 percent of Kivalina’s population is under the age of 18.

For their entire lives, these kids have been told their village has to relocate.

Within the next three years, they could at least attend school off the island, roughly seven miles away. – @EmilySchwing
