'You have spent the last two years failing to do your job, which is to directly represent the popular will of your constituents.' - Anna Timmer at townhall 5/28/19
@justinamash responded: "My job is to uphold the Constitution."
Lets discuss this...
In a @YouTube vid Ms Timmer cites Encyclopedia Britannica 'The House of Reps shares equal responsibility for lawmaking with the U.S. Sen. As conceived by the framers of the Constitution, the House was to represent the popular will, and its members were to be directly elected.'
There is some truth to the above statement. The real question here is who is right and how is that 'job' executed properly and in good faith?

While it is the duty of the Rep to represent the popular will of their district this is not accomplished through direct representation. Direct representation would require said Rep to poll their district on every upcoming vote and cast their vote accordingly in DC.
This is not done by @justinamash nor by any other Rep.
Rather the popular will is represented by the Rep in DC simply by the fact that said congressman is reelected or voted out. If the people feel they are being represented in good faith then the Rep will retain his office, if not he will lose his seat.
The 'popular will' is represented by who we send to DC, not by how our Reps vote in our stead.
And to imply that only the policy of the winning party is represented in DC is anathema to the foundations of this nation. Do we then say that Rep Amash only represents the 169,107 who voted for him in 2018? Does Kevin McCarthy only rep the 131,113 that voted for him?
No, it is the sworn duty of every member of #USHouse to represent his entire district to the best of his abilities while upholding and defending the Constitution. To quote Edmund Burke:
'It is his duty to sacrifice his repose, his pleasures, his satisfactions, to theirs; and above all, ever, and in all cases, to prefer their interest to his own. But his unbiased opinion, his mature judgment, his enlightened conscience, he ought not to sacrifice to you, to any...
man, or to any set of men living. These he does not derive from your pleasure; no, nor from the law and the constitution. They are a trust from Providence, for the abuse of which he is deeply answerable. Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment;
and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion.
