Just absurdly good. Rory Stewart shows more humanity in 30 minutes than Theresa May has managed in 3 years. There are no guarantees. In the end he may disappoint. But it's impossible not to keep alive that flickering hope that somehow he will progress.
If your first reaction is to look to his voting record, that's fair. But please bear in mind that's his record as a loyal MP voting on someone else's policy programme. After you listen to him, even for a few minutes, it's clear things would be very different if he were in charge.
And if the hang up is Brexit, I'll be blunt: I'm worried about that too. Rory Stewart is not yet saying the right things. But realistically:
A) If he were too Remain now he would have no chance at all.
B) I believe he is willing to listen, learn and adapt when the time comes.

When you listen to his chats (you can't in fairness call them speeches, because they're far more open and two-way than that) the cloud of despair at the death of reason in our current politics starts to dissipate. Not an instant cure, but a refreshing breeze with real promise.
