BREAKING: #SCOTUS has denied a stay of execution to Marion Wilson in Georgia, allowing the 1,500th execution to proceed in the US since the death penalty was allowed to go back into effect in 1976.
Georgia has executed Marion Wilson — the 2nd in Georgia & 10th in the US this year. Wilson’s is the 1,500th execution in the US since #SCOTUS allowed executions to resume in 1976, after the court had founded prior statutes to be unconstitutional in ‘72.
