This demonstrates why you shouldn't listen to confused "law experts". Nowhere in the story does it mention "First Amendment rights". Tolerating those who disagree is a value we have as a society. It's not always about the law, censorship can be done by private organizations.
It's like this "WKRP In Cincinnati" about the Christian Right trying to censor rock music. In this case, you agree it's "censorship", because you hate the Christian Right. But it's not "censorship" when Reddit does it, because again, you hate the Right.
It's of course true that platforms have no "legal" duty to be politically neutral (and such a legal requirement would itself violate 1st Amendment rights). But it's something we as consumers should demand of such platforms.
Pretending that there's no censorship issue, no impact on freedom of speech and expression, just because there's no legal rights involved, is just intellectual laziness.
