Membership of the EU is a partnership. But there is no partnership to be had with the US. The relationship - as we will discover the moment the UK seeks to negotiate a trade treaty - is between a dominant power and a supplicant.

That’s the way the Brexit ultras always wanted it. Subordination to the US will ensure the UK becomes a sacrifice zone, to be used and abused by the oligarchs who fund right-wing politics: cheap labour, lax public protections, minimal and avoidable taxes.

I've been warning that this was the agenda for 19 years. But it was impossible to make headway against the shit torrent in the billionaire press.
