Happening NOW: Immigrant families separated under the Trump, Obama, & Bush administrations have stormed @JoeBiden's campaign building, demanding #DignityNotDeportation.

Why are we protesting Biden and not Trump? A thread.
For the past 2 decades, undocumented immigrants have been living a crisis: raids, family separation, millions of deportations.

Now, the Trump administration’s cruel treatment of immigrants at the border & across the country has finally exposed the inhumanity of our whole system.
Thousands of people are taking the streets to protest these atrocities. Americans are refusing to look away from the crisis and are saying: #NeverAgain, #CloseTheCamps, and #AbolishICE.
This moment of public reckoning is a point of no return.

3 million people were deported under the Obama-Biden administration. We can't go back to a status quo of silent mass deportations or kids in slightly better cages. We need nothing short of dignity for ALL immigrants
Right now, being anti-Trump on immigration is a bare minimum that many of Democratic leaders haven't even met, with @HouseDemocrats continuing to fund ICE and Border Patrol.

For any presidential candidate who claims to stand with immigrants, we need a new standard for dignity.
To @JoeBiden & all 2020 candidates: if you really support immigrant dignity, you'll commit to...

1. An end to all detention & deportations on day 1
2. Immediate legalization for all undocumented immigrants
3. Family reunification for all
