I'm now 15k words into my short/simple non-math introduction to crypto. I'm writing the section on "magical cryptos and were to find them", about crypto that you probably use daily. What should I add to the list?

I'm hazy on the details of how phone encryption works, because while I can read the standards, I have no idea how my mobile device is encrypting in practice.

Bitcoin is a good thing to add to the list, because while it uses crypto, nowhere does it encrypt anything. It's all hashes and public keys. This is good concept to learn, that "crypto" means "cryptography" not "encryption".
Excellent. I forgot all about credit cards and how those chips work.
I hadn't thought about this separation, but I probably should. Hardware enclaves are the basis for how things like full disk encryption works.
