THREAD: Since news broke that Robert Foster denied reporter @thisislarrison access without a male chaperone, his FB following has increased by 2000+. This screenshot shows the change for @RobertFoster4MS from Wednesday at noon (half a day after the story broke) to today. #mselex
Robert Foster’s Twitter following also appears to be up by about 2,000 followers.

And quite a few of his new followers say this incident, where he denied a woman reporter access without a male chaperone, is why. For instance:
New supporter Amy says this is “God giving (Robert Foster) the best possible boost in the last weeks (of the GOP primary for Mississippi governor). David against Goliath!”

In recent polls, Foster drew a distant third w single digit support behind two establishment candidates.
Robert Foster knows his decision to deny access to a woman reporter could be a boon for him among conservative GOP voters who are contemptuous of the #MeToo movement. Consider this “#MyTruckMyRules” ad he is running on Facebook; it’s one of several similar ads.
It appears Robert Foster’s campaign is largely targeting this #MyTruckMyRules ad on Facebook to men—bragging about his decision to refuse access to a woman reporter without a male chaperone. #MSelex
“In a state where men overwhelmingly dominate (politics), such a rule gives male reporters, like myself, an unfair advantage. ... It suggests jobs that require close proximity to the governor might not be open to women in a Foster administration.“ #mselex
