/ Everything you need to know about the new organization @PartyMajority which you can join at PartyMajority.com
/ Incredibly grateful that one of the individuals that stepped up to be an early founder of this organization is Mike Lux @ProgressiveLux, who is a major progressive leader and diehard Democrat.
/ In short, @PartyMajority works to rebuild Democratic infrastructure from the ground up, continuing tactics that have worked and scrapping what has failed.
/ A new independent expenditure, @PartyMajority adds to existing efforts while seizing on untapped opportunities to strengthen the Democratic Party in every corner of the country.
/ While there are Democratic super PACs that support efforts to elect candidates to specific offices, no super PAC seeks to support the Democratic Party as a whole.
/ This organization will fill that void. An over focus on presidential elections, the weakening of state parties, a loss of more than 1,000 legislative seats, and an overemphasis on TV ads rather than vital organizing efforts have all left Democrats with a huge challenge.
/ As an outside apparatus acting independently from the party, but with the party’s long-term interest as its focus, @PartyMajority plays a vital role in helping the party overcome these challenges.
/ PLAN OF ACTION:

We must use the campaign finance laws as they exist, not as we hope them to be. This is a hybrid PAC that can accept soft and hard dollars. It will be able to coordinate with State Parties and make federal contributions.
/ Data is not a goal, it’s a tool to be used to accomplish a goal. Data is only as valuable as it is useable. New organizations need integrated lists to get things done.
/ Donor lists, volunteer lists, supporter lists, political lists, constituency lists all are necessary tools for a modern political operation.
/ Analytics are great, but politics matter as well.
/ Building relationships with state party chairs, constituency leaders, committee members, past delegates and precinct leaders, and leading activists can seem like an exhausting and thankless task, but these relationships pay dividends when executing a campaign plan.
/ Grassroots super PACs can have a HUGE impact. “Grassroots super PAC” is not an oxymoron.
/ Previous super PACs have used contributions from major donors to fund the creation of a grassroots supporter and donor networks. They organized and energized people. Super PACs that spend money on TV are great, but TV really only does so much.
/ Some important principles of @PartyMajority:

Focus on a handful of very specific projects at any one time. It is better to get a few things right than many things partially right.
/ Build infrastructures that are sustainable. Democrats spend too much time rebuilding structures we built for the last election and then let them fall apart.
/ We need to have structure that are built to last, not to collapse and organizations that can keep them up, not disappear the day after the election.
/ Don’t reinvent the wheel. When you look at the operation of our broader Democratic efforts, some things we do very well, others not so well and somethings we don’t do at all. If something is working, there is no point in recreating it.
/ Our efforts will focus on doing those things that aren’t getting done and making those thing that don’t work, work better.
/ Maximize efficiency. After the regrettable Citizens United decision, it became easy to create new organizations to focus on specific problems.
/ While we may not like the rules, we have to play by them to be competitive. But having too many groups focused on one thing and none focused on others isn’t effective or efficient.
/ These outside groups need to have a way to interact, understand what each other is doing and make sure that our limited resources are doing the most good with the least duplication.
/ Limit money spent on overhead. We understand that donors, large or small, want their money spent on outcomes, not on bureaucracy.
/ Technology allows management structures to be built that don’t require offices, equipment or even full-time staff.
/ Building something that requires a huge infrastructure to maintain just increases the odds of it failing. We will design things that rely on technology, are self-sustaining and uses their resources to talk to voters, not each other.
/ So with that, Building on a wave of Democratic victories this week, @PartyMajority launched to harness Democratic enthusiasm, strengthen the Democratic Party, and lay the groundwork for Democratic victories up and down the ballot in 2018 and every single year.
/ As one of the founders @ProgressiveLux said best: “Democrats are motivated to fight the Trump agenda, but without fully funded organizing operations, we won’t maximize our opportunities next year and every year thereafter,”
/ More from @ProgressiveLux: “Party Majority will fill in holes to make sure activists on the ground have the resources they need to be successful, working with existing organizations both new and old to ensure resources are used effectively."
/ "This is about leaving nothing on the table and ensuring the hard work of organizing is continually built upon. The days of starting from scratch, not sharing information, and not working together are over.” - Mike Lux, co-founder of @PartyMajority
