1/ Last night, a reporter broke some information slightly incorrectly: they said military spending was in the COVID bill instead of the consolidated spending bill that contained it. As a result, I conveyed that part incorrectly. I’m sorry for that. But the larger points stand: 2/ The consolidated spending bill was all part of the same negotiations as the COVID relief bill. And the “relief” in that bill is entirely inadequate. $600 per person in a check. $25B in emergency rent relief. $300/week extended unemployment benefits. It’s nowhere near enough.

1. McConnell’s bill is a $500,000,000,000.00 corporate slush fund that supremely benefits CEOs and the ultra rich — while LEAVING WORKERS, FAMILIES and CHILDREN OUT TO DRY.
