Let's be clear here, this is what is going on with Barr.
1. As a matter of law, Barr cannot provide Congress with the grand jury information that Democrats just held him in contempt for not turning over to them. 2. Barr can, however, petition the courts to allow release, and the House Democrats have requested he do so. He refused, and this adds to their reasons for the contempt vote. Important to note, he is not required by law to accommodate their request to petition the court.
