It's not legally binding, and some will think it's not inclusive enough while others will think it's gone too far, but it's v important to have the Fiqh Council of North America's fatwa/legal opinion on women in the mosque in writing.

fiqhcouncil.org/the-inclusion-… "We, the undersigned Muslim scholars, leaders, organizations and concerned Muslims, voice our strong commitment to uphold and realize the Prophetic ideal of masjids being open and inclusive of women. Apparently, some folks think minorities being told to "go back home" isn't racist. That our being here is a result of their magnanimity and not a result of our rights. Lemme see if I can help you out. Being second generation (American-born/raised children of immigrant parents) might be compared to living with one parent. Some corners of the internet are attacking @RepEBJ for inviting her constituent, the beloved TX Imam @omarsuleiman504 to give a prayer to Congress yesterday. You might not know who he is, so I'll tell you. He's known in the Muslim community for being a founder of @MUHSENORG which helps and trains mosques to serve Muslims with special needs and of @yaqeeninstitute which publishes papers on issues facing US Muslims.

The white tobe is worn by working women in offices and can be linked w/cotton (a major export of Sudan), so it represents women working as professionals in cities or in the agricultural sector in rural areas.

Why We Must Recapture Scholarly Discourse from Extreme Bloggers | ImanWire almadinainstitute.org/blog/why-we-mu… There is a very interesting story in the footnotes that highlights why I started @SideEntrance years ago & the importance of experiential learning that men often need to undertake before they become loyal allies of women as the Quran tells them to be.

Are they kidding? Instead of building unity within the party in the run up to the 2020 election, Dem leadership would rather divide and censure. #IStandWithIlhan Where were their resolutions over the years for the avowed white supremacist Steve King? Or all the birthers in both houses who spent 8 years attacking Obama's Americanness based on his Blackness and percieved foreign Muslim-ness?
