Is it time for the Gen X digression... yeah, it's time.

It's funny how the memes generally show boomers and millennials at each other's throats while you're Gen X and get to sit on the sidelines being all disaffected and ironic...

When in reality you're the worst. Congrats for riding out stable economies and and being able to actually own shit, comfortably assimilating and following most of the gains the boomers left in their wake. That's a nice privilege you have and man, you get sensitive when asked about it.

Okay, I'm going to have to get this out before I lose it and the discourse turns into a nightmare: DUNE THREAD.

Central point: there are more reasons than you think that this franchise was considered unfilmable.

Let's start with the source material... So the original novel is considered foundational to so many other works in sci-fi - including Star Wars - but in truth Dune (and I'm speaking ONLY about the first book, purists, hold tight) isn't just out there in its content and themes and coding, it's DENSE.

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10. 2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
