If you work for a non-evil (or just less evil?) tech company and you're hiring, can you let us know about it in the replies? Like open source? @Bitergia do open source focused analytics and they're hiring backend devs and analytics consultants remote in Europe

I have been living in the UK for 10 years this year. Please have a short thread of things that are still weird as hell to me 🧵 British people have rising intonation when they say “bye” on the phone so it’s a bouncy “byYEEE” and why do you people do that?

The function of a system is its output.

If you have dog grooming machine that sometimes smashes puppies and you keep running it, you're in the dog smashing business.

If you work for a mass surveillance company that keeps enabling genocide and undermining democracy... 👨‍💻But my job isn't in the puppy smashing team!

-The complexity of your puppy-smashing system isn't absolution. Your employer is creating artificial distance to shelter you from the outcome of what you're doing.

Mirror the language they use in the job description and make sure you've listed all the skills you have that they ask for.
