YINKA GOES TO SCHOOL
After my ordination in 2006, I felt that I had embarked on a path of life that was outrightly divergent from my previous dreams of academic glory and scholarly acclaim.
[A thread]

I had finally reached a state of equanimity about my academic prospects. I had no more ambition in me for academic stardom or desire to break new grounds in the field of medicine. I was done with schooling, or so I thought.
/2
However, shortly after my ordination, Pastor Tope Opaleye encouraged me to try to seek admission once more into an institution of higher learning. His logic was that I had done what God wanted of me, so it should be possible to move forward in other areas of life.

I'd not thought about this before. But it's not just the liberal democracies, pretending that neoliberalism doesn't exist. Every government in the world keeps silent about the neoliberal doctrine, including countries you'd think could benefit, by blowing the whistle on it.
1/
Neoliberalism is a very distinct type of political, social and economic policy. There are plenty of possible other policy directions, but governments pretend there aren't, and the only answer to everything, is a neoliberal solution.
2/
Neoliberalism, had a definite starting point with Thatcher and Reagan, even if it technically started in Chile, with Pinochet. You can see a clear sea change in policy, after the neoliberal doctrine was introduced, and it was a clearly different direction to policy before.

NEW: DA's next witness is former Trump executive assistant (and incidental Apprentice star) Rhona Graff.
Graff is here pursuant to a subpoena and is represented by a Trump-paid lawyer, Pat Pileggi. But she is primarily here to authenticate documents, not testify about what she saw.
And now Graff is testifying to two damning electronic details: Karen McDougal's entry in Trump's contacts, which includes two physical addresses, a cell phone number, and an email address, and an entry for a person named "Stormy," with only a mobile phone number.

Set against the backdrop of 14th century France.

Knights Jacques le Gris and Jean de Carrouges engaged in a brutal trial by combat. A tale of brotherhood, accusation and betrayal. A tale of comrades in arms would end in violent bloodshed.

Here is the story of The Last Duel 🧵Image
Jean de Carrouges was born in the 1330s in Carrouges, France. He was a knight who had governance of estates in Normandy and was a vassal to Count Pierre d'Alencon.

Jean was a warrior who served on multiple campaigns. He fought in many under the leadership of Admiral Jean de Vienne against the Kingdom of England.

He is described in chronicles as "a rash and temperamental man" but is also described to have been a fierce and loyal soldier. Image

Now that we all know what DEI is, I want to talk to the Right of Center about reclaiming the correct meaning of “equity.”

Equity is a legal word. It is contrasted with “law” in legal understanding.
The English common law developed the concept of “equity” as a means of avoiding the harsh and unjust outcomes that a strict application of “the law” sometimes produces.
This would be stuff like a lease where a couple made all payments except the last one was one day late because the husband died & the widow could not access to their account for a few days and the landlord would foreclose on the entire property. Technically allowed; still BS.

Let's read some MLK shall we.

1) On Black Power: "I regret that the slogan Black Power came into being, because it has been so confusing. It gives the wrong connotation. It often connotes the quest for black domination rather than black equality."
2) On Rioting: "Every time a riot develops, it helps George Wallace."
3) On the ideas of racial sectarianism: "Black supremacy is as dangerous as white supremacy, and God is not interested merely in the freedom of black men and brown men and yellow men."

1/ Updated BMD count. Let's how the Russian airborne IFVs in storage are looking after more than two years of peer warfare. Image
2/ First, the actual figures. After recounting prewar stocks, @HighMarsed and I found 637 BMDs or BMD-based support vehicles in Russian military depots. Now the number has been reduced to just 244 units, just over a third of the initial number, of which at least 58 are not actual combat vehicles.Image
3/ Two months ago I did a BMD thread where, will not disclosing numbers, I did provide some useful data. I recommend checking that one, as it already contains a lot of info also published in this thread:
