🌊🗳️Overview of the Democratic positions after the 2018 Blue Wave Elections. Heading into the 2018 Election, the Senate had a Republican majority. There were 51 Republicans plus the Vice President, 47 Democrats and 2 Independents that caucus with the Democrats so basically 51-49.
🔷As of January 3, 2019, The Republicans now have 52 seats plus the Vice President. and the Democrats have 45 seats and 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats.

*⃣There was one vacancy, but the Republican Arizona Governor appointed fellow Republican Martha McSally, who took office on January 3, 2019. So the Senate is basically 53-47, in favor of the GOP.
