Whoa.

Daily Beast: Jeffrey Epstein " arrested for allegedly sex trafficking dozens of minors in New York and Florida between 2002 and 2005"

thedailybeast.com/jeffrey-epstei…

This comes 2 weeks after the DOJ argued against the rescission of the Epstein Non-Prosecution Agreement in the victims' Florida case.

Full doc here: scribd.com/document/41601…

The charges discussed in the article seem to be the same charges - interstate trafficking of minors - addressed in Epstein's plea deal.

Why the charges now? It's obvious...

The media finally got around to condemning the FBI/DOJ for favoring Epstein. This led the DOJ to take action.

FBI/DOJ trying to save face.

Leaves the question of whether the plea deal stands in the way of prosecution...

Finally - considering the DOJ position against rescission in the Florida victims' case (made on 6/24/19)...

You have to wonder what the newly unsealed (not yet released) Epstein documents reveal.

For context: re-upping these sworn victim statements from the FL case.

1) Details Epstein/Maxwell efforts to bring young girls to Epstein's island. "Many appeared to be young teenagers."

2) Acts w/ Dershowitz and another woman

The full scope of Epstein's international sex trafficking ring.

And the efforts of the DOJ to protect Epstein (and itself):

DOJ Attorney Villafana e-mails Epstein's lawyers to discuss their:

1) their "avoid the press" strategy

2) how they can make up the "simple assault" crime (would have given him less than 6 months in jail)

The DOJ was really a co-conspirator in all this.

The DOJ lawyers changed the victim notification letters - letters to sexually abused young girls - at Epstein's request.

As we previously noted, the DOJ's leadership in DC - upper level leadership - approved the Epstein deal.

But the DOJ in DC didn't just approve the Epstein deal - they helped supervise the case.

Spring of 2008: Emails between FBI agents and the local ass't US attorneys reveal "continued delays" in getting the case to a grand jury "due to the failure to receive decision from DC"

How bad was the DOJ-approved plea deal?

9/27/2007: Epstein signs the non-prosecution agreement

10/31/2007: Internal emails show that FBI agents still had not interviewed all the victims.

Reports that the Epstein case is being handled by the SDNY Public Corruption Unit (PCU).

Notable that the PCU "oversees the investigation and prosecution of corruption crimes committed by elected and appointed officials, government employees..."

@DailyMailUK just posted this photo.

Search warrant executed at Epstein's NYC home tonight.

Additional charges may be forthcoming.

Working theory: PCU looked into post-plea actions by Manhattan DAs office (Cyrus Vance).

They tried to give Epstein a sweetheart sex offender registry deal.

Any bribe scheme would vacate the plea.
