>> Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross acted in “bad faith,” broke several laws and violated the constitutional underpinning of representative democracy when he added a citizenship question to the 2020 Census, a federal judge rules - The Washington Post washingtonpost.com/world/national…
Judge: Ross engaged in “cynical search" to justify adding citizenship Q to census—fully aware it would produce an undercount & reduce representation in Congress—and thus in electoral college that decides the presidency—of states w/ significant immigrant populations—notably Calif.
SECOND federal judge finds—after a trial—that Wilbur Ross misrepresented to public & Congress his reasons for adding citizenship question to census. Ross claimed he was acting at the request of Justice Dept to enforce Voting Rights Act. “Evidence establishes” that was “a pretext”
Amazing. Federal judge essentially says Trump's Commerce Secy LIED to CONGRESS—stating a pretext—under oath—for adding a citizenship question to census. In fact, #WilburRoss pursued it after talking to Stephen Bannon & Kris Kobach—of Trump’s now-disbanded voting fraud commission.
