Are your Community's small businesses hurting? We just had an AWESOME Community funded Stimulus event called Prime the Pump and it was INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL! And incredibly easy. Here's how we did it...

@POTUS
#PrimeThePump
#ShopLocal
#WimberleyUnited
#COVID19
#SmallBusiness
2) First, the what & the how:
Prime the Pump was for jump starting the Community shopping by pulling people out to the shops& giving them an incentive to spend.
We did this by raising money via local donations from local businesses Community members. We raised $10,000 in 5 days!
3)The only requirements were that all shoppers had to show up at the event to sign up, they would be reimbursed a set amount$ for spending at all local shops who weren't able to open during the shut down, &they have to present their receipts at a set time Mon or Tue next week.
4) We created an online flyer with name, time& location & put it on every online community forum we could, letting people know to contact us for donations& questions. And in the POST itself, we outlined the purpose and rules. Community chatter began quickly.... we raised $10,000
5)At the event, after every shopper signed up, we divided to donations by dog shoppers (*pulling back 20%to distribute to businesses not allowed to open- salons, bars, etc...) After we tallied, everyone got $120 to go spend freely& WOW, there were a lot of smiles &so much joy!
6)Shoppers descended upon our town like a pack of giddy children. We had ONE day to spend $120 and we were all excited. Which was something our town was lacking, joyful excitement. It's good medicine.
&We all spent more $120, Hence the name #PrimeThePump. It was a jump start.
7) Next Monday & Tuesday we'll gather receipts and reimburse up to $120 for everyone on the list. And then personally distribute the other 20% to our businesses not yet able to open.
And that's it. It was almost effortless. And incredibly joyful.
8)It was INCREDIBLY easy for us to gather as a Community to take the future of our small business into our own hands. We brought joy& hope back to our Community &raised $10,000 to jump start our local economy.
Plesse share so others can too.
