The Egbado appear to have migrated - possibly from the Ketu, Ile-Ife, or Oyo - to their current area early in the 18th century.

Egbado towns, most importantly Ilaro, Ayetoro, Afon, Imeko, Ipokia and Igbogila, were established in the 18th century to take advantage
of the slave trade routes from the inland Oyo empire to the coast at Porto-Novo.

Other towns were Ilobi and Ijanna, which were strategic in protecting the flanks of the slaving routes. The Egbados' were subject to the rule of the Oyo kingdom, which managed

The Owu-Ife war, as its name denotes, was a bloody conflict that broke out between the people of Ile-Ife and natives of the neighbouring town of Owu between 1821 and 1828. Its significance lies in the fact that it was a war that opened the gate of tragedy for other
wars in Yoruba land.

Causes of the Owu-Ife War

Owu-Ife war broke out barely four years after the collapse of the Old Oyo empire. On the surface, the war outbreak was the result of a disagreement between two market women over five cowries. The main cause, however, was the hatred

Peter Obi Finally Replies Those Saying He Has 'No Structure'

“Whenever I hear of NO STRUCTURE, my answer to it is simple; the 100 million Nigerians that live in poverty will be the structure.
The 35 million Nigerians who don't know where their next meal will come from will be the structure. The elderly; our mothers, fathers, the old ones that are dying or being owed gratuity, pension will be the structure.
#ASUU; the lecturers that are being owed, the students who are not in school will be the structure. We'll create the structure, and they'll see what the structure is all about. The structure is about human beings.” — Labour Party Presidential Candidate.

THE BSc/HND DISPARITY: A THREAD.
This bird's app has been inundated with diverse opinions on the afore-mentioned. It was the aftermath of @EWAWUNMIII's tweet. I decided to wade into this without any form of prejudice. Please, Kindly read on👇(1/2)
First, here's a background to myself. I had ND (Distinction), HND (Upper Credit) - this was because I was into full time business and couldn't concentrate on my studies. Then of course, I had BSc(First Class). Please, do note that I stated this just to provide clarity. (2)
Clarity, to show that I have experienced both worlds - I'm on a pedastal where I can address this objectively. For the young ones among us, please learn and quit needless arguments. When your future is at stake, you need to let go of being self opinionated and listen.

#ASUU : The members of this union will get full pay( and some) for 9months of work not done, in the year of #covid_19 and subsequent recession.

Everybody loves to profit from our dysfunctional system. We then hypocritically look up to God to 'come heal our land'!
Other university unions are already doing press-up for their own impending strike. Their strike will be followed by strikes in the healthsector and other unions in the civil service.

Then we will blame the executive arm of the government for not growing our economy!
I understand why it's so easy for some people to give up on Nigeria. Projections into the future do not give one much to hope upon. We keep self-sabotaging any developmental strides: pls keep praying for those train services.😆

Still we must keep believing.
