To be heard…

A THREAD FOR THE WRITERS

We all have our reasons, I presume....
For me, the concept of being understood has always felt somewhat intangible.

As a young child, I suffered from a terrible stutter.

Only the people who loved me bothered to hear me.

The ability to write well – I thought – would free me from a future of larger misunderstanding.
I studied words. I read books. I journaled. I got published. I drew. I found pen pals. I built websites on the world wide web and dug for information.

I learned to write and I learned to communicate, but rarely still was I understood.

So I finished watching this sorry excuse for an interview with #KamalaHarris conducted by @margarettalev for Axios on HBO. The clips were problematic and it got worse. The Back of the Bus imagery was appalling and there were zero substantive questions. Just a total fail
This interview is a prime example of the contrast I've made about the stark contrast of #BlackMedia vs the MSM. The lack hostility & cynicism are replaced with constructive & respectful framing by Black media. #KamalaHarris obviously has to do both but MSM needs to do better.
I'm giving y'all free advice on how to do better because this coverage has been deplorable. It's unfair that we don't have a proper chronicling of #KamalaHarris' campaign from the MSM. Per usual the question is framed through a critique not to conduct a robust policy discussion.
