Today is #BlackWomensEqualPayDay—how far into the year Black women need to work to earn the same as their white, non-Hispanic male counterparts in 2019. Let's discuss some statistics:

Black women make 62 cents for every dollar paid to white man, 21% less than white women.
In Massachusetts, it's worse. It's 58 cents.

The average Black woman working full time in Massachusetts earns $41,787 to a white man's $72,354.

What would you do with an extra $30,000? What about if you are the sole breadwinner for your family, which most Black women are?
This to say nothing of how the pandemic has impacted Black women.

They are disproportionately essential workers, disproportionately being killed by the virus, and disproportionately losing their jobs.
