This is #BurningMan—as thousands of attendees headed home—with scores of superspreaders catching #COVID19 and then taking it home with them. Outdoor activity didn’t save them from the virus. #Ba5 is that transmissible. Don’t risk it—get the #BoosterShot.
2) seriously. There are many multitudes of reports of #COVID19 among Burning man attendees. Likely a big superspreading event.
3) there are countless reports of #COVID19 outbreak among Burning man attendees. One woman wrote “almost everyone” she knew caught it. #BA5 is damn transmissible folks!!!

Burning Man 2022 came to a close on Sept 5, after returning to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The festival was marked by sandstorms, a heat wave, and at the end, an immense, 15-lane traffic jam. A video shared by Twitter user @ cjyu shows an aerial view of the hours-long traffic jam in the middle of the desert.
Hundreds of cars can be seen lined up as far as the eye can see, across 15 lanes.

I’m about to do the hardest, most wonderful thing with some great people. I arrived in #BlackRockCity tonight for my second year at #BurningMan, coming five days early to help build it and acclimate to the sensory input.

PS - There’s lots of autistic people here. An image of the cracked surface of a dry lake bed.An image people measuring a line on the ground.
The sensory input of Burning Man is a bit overwhelming, but I’ve found some autistic people handle it better than most of the neurotypical attendees as we live this every day and already have experience accommodating ourselves to such input.
Much of the culture of Burning Man is very autistic. It’s hard not to look at the art, the infrastructure, or the approaches without seeing influence of autistic people.
