Here in this thread i will try to explain all the issues farmers are facing with this new act. Everything from MSP to electricity amendment bill.

1) MSP is one of the things farmers are protesting for, now let me explain why MSP not mentioned in the act is an issue.
Since its not mentioned its not legal so there is nothing thats stopping them from stopping MSP, farmers won’t be able engage in legal battles.

2) Right now in mandi system when an auction is held its the seller’s market farmers decides the price, the more buyers the bigger price farmers get.
But with this bill buyers don’t have to go to mandi, they can purchase it directly this will become a buyers market..

Me: Sir, what is your opinion on the farmers protest against the farm bills

MP: I believe the Prime Minister has introduced the farm bills to help the farmers. In fact Congress has been wanting to introduce these laws since 1950, but they never did and we did it. The farmer will have the freedom to sell the harvest anywhere he wants to.

For e.g. rice is expensive in Maharashtra and not so much in Telangana. So farmer from Telangana can sell it in Maharashtra. Similarly the companies will now work with the farmers. They will pay the farmers in advance.
(and the MP went on sing laurels about the PM)

Even though most states contribute to farming the Centre only purchases paddy, wheat and few other select pulses in large quantities.

And more than half of all government procurement of wheat and paddy in the last five years has taken place in Punjab and Haryana.

according to Agriculture Ministry data. More than 85% of wheat and paddy grown in Punjab and 75% percent in Haryana, is bought by the government at MSP rates.
Punjab government earns an annual revenue of about 3500 crore from these purchases.

3/5. The government then quickly ‘codified’ 29 labour laws into four codes. More media and expert applause. But the ungrateful workers so empowered are on the streets today fully supporting the liberated farmers. Happy Constitution Day, all.
