Did you know you can sue your health professionals on this basis: Standards of Care WPATH (v7, 2012) clause that "role of mental health professionals includes making reasonably sure that gender dysphoria is not secondary to or better accounted for by other diagnoses".

3/ Dealing with the first link first- this is the submission from OCO “Advice on the General Scheme of the Gender Recognition Bill 2013”. This was the proposed medical model Bill which was passed in the Seanad and then changed to self ID when it reached the Dáil.
What actually happened is Levine was repeatedly asked whether Levine was for or against **minors** receiving hormones and/or surgeries without parental consent. Levine refused to answer the question. Repeatedly.
Rachel Levine could become US Assistant Sec. of Health. Paul cited the #KeiraBell case, quoting Bell directly: "I made a brash decision as a teenager, as a lot of teenagers do. Trying to find competence & happiness, except now the rest of my life will be negatively affected."
The @CareQualityComm inspection report which found @TaviAndPort #GIDS service to be ‘inadequate’ is a truly shocking read. We are appalled at the spin that this is just about waiting times. It is not. This is a #safeguarding scandal. Full report here:

Questions must be asked (and answered) about why so many children were experiencing distress around gender in the first place. What has gone wrong in our society? Why are we failing to challenge gender stereotypes? What are children looking at online?

The regulatory capture in our society has gone so far that even the @CareQualityComm report into this scandal uses highly contested, ideological language such as ‘assigned sex at birth’. This must stop. Sex is observed at birth, usually by medical professionals.

3/ I’m a Democrat. I’m also a Black British feminist & a lesbian. I believe that sex is real & immutable. I believe passionately that gender-diverse & transgender persons must be protected from discrimination, but not at the cost of erasing ’woman’ as a sex based legal category.

This is a bizarre & wholly wrong condemnation of the young #KeiraBell, who was badly advised, allowed to go through unnecessary surgery & medical treatment, & who now points out how badly advised she was.
Yes, #KeiraBell *dared* to go to court to protest malpractice and bad advice. Too bad if you don't like that, the UK still manages to be somewhere where a person can go to court to redress wrongs. Suck it up, get over it.
I still can't get over the other tweeter who wanted Biden to go in and muscle the UK into ignoring its own High Court judgment. I mean, seriously, what planet are people living on?

We are disturbed to see this misinformation and lack of understanding of safeguarding being circulated.

We agree that it is important for school staff to be mindful of any trans-identified student in their care, suffering from mental distress (or any students experiencing mental distress for whatever reason).
We understand that the #KeiraBell case will have caused distress to some, especially given the dangerous narrative being irresponsibly pushed that this will make children suicidal and was an attack on their rights, not an action to safeguard and protect them.
The UK High Court rules that #PubertyBlockers for normally-timed puberty are experimental and that young gender-dysphoric people (under 16) are unlikely to be able to provide meaningful informed consent.
