In 1988, #Libya gov ordered 12 Su-24MK strike bombers for #Libya Arab Air Force.Just 6 of them were delivered in 1989 & the rest were remained undelivered in #SovietUnion.They later entered in service of 239th TsPAT of #Russia Air Force in #Kubinka & remained in service till 1996

The six Su-24MKs which delivered #Libya in 1989 all entered in service of 1124 Squadron of #Libya Arab Air Force in Ghardabiya Air Base. They were all airworthy until 2011 when they were all destroyed during the war.

One of them was shot-down at Ras Lanuf on 5 March 2011 while the rest were destroyed by the coalition aircraft on the ground at Ghardabiya Air Base near #Sirte. None of them survived to be overhauled or repaired by #Russia for #Libya National Air Force. (© Maxar Technologies)
