Why write this book? Because on October 24, 2018 in #Louisville, KY, these 2 beautiful people—my sweet, elder cousin, Vickie Jones and Mr. Maurice Stallard—was stolen from their families & community by a man who decided they were the wrong color to be grocery shopping that day. ImageImage
They are the genesis of my decision to write this book; to tell the stories of unrelenting pain and grief AND/ALSO how we make room for joy, love, peace, and healing by reckoning with it.

Why write this book?
Because there’s a too long list of names/hashtags (see: #buffaloshooting) that came before & after #Krogershooting. Which means that racial violence is still a reality for Black & Indigenous folks in this country & the “church” is complicit in that. I/we want off this ride.

August home builder sentiment and sales/prices/starts survey results are in. Top themes: 1) Home price cuts along with other incentives are helping sales (for now). 2) Supply chain is healing as demand drops and builders quickly slow housing starts. Market commentary to follow…
#Austin builder: “A lot of spec inventory to work through. August was a very poor month for sales across the board. Cancellations spiked from July and buyers showed no sense of urgency.”
#Baltimore builder: “Jumbo loan rates below 5% are helping buyers move forward in that segment.”

Ready for the #CFB Analytics Spring Top 40? Here we go. This Power Ranking is derived from a model which utilizes full Coach Staff efficiency metrics, roster talent, & returning production among other metrics. No opinion here, I just regurgitate the numbers. #NoOpinionJustNumbers
40 #Kentucky #BBN #SEC Power Rating: 61.726
Returning Production for the Wildcats may be a problem. At 39.72%, it puts them at 113th in the country. The schedule is manageable tho drawing Ole Miss & Miss State out the West. #CFB
39 #Washington #PurpleReign #Pac12
Power Rating: 62.271
Really like the new coaching staff in Seattle. Should put them in a better position to win. Roster talent purge from the prev regime will have an early effect (last 2 classes were 39th, 86th) but the ship has been righted.

Here's a thread recap of what 2020 was like for me as a public radio reporter in #Louisville, Kentucky. Let me start by saying it was the most challenging year of my decade-long career in journalism and I at one point covered breaking news in Florida.
I'll mostly skip past the first months of the year when I was a sweet summer child, save to say that misinformation reached a fever pitch in 2020 and stories like this one from January show it was a problem long before the pandemic and the election: wfpl.org/a-decade-of-cl…
I paid close attention to news out of China. By early February I began bringing it up in our daily news meetings. That was back when we had things like office cake. I went to the grocery store to stock up on food and medicine. It never crossed my mind to buy extra toilet paper.

A thread about what’s going on in #louisville right now. I’m going to touch on the “failing school” narrative, structural racism, and reform for our city. I am a dad, a tax payer, and a principal for @JCPSKY

For my students that read this, think about the points I have here, reflect on them, and balance them with your breasts experiences. You will be in a position soon to do something about it.

Chris has already done a good thread & analysis on the Twitter reactions after the indictment in #Louisville was handed down yesterday. We have a couple of things to add namely some additional analysis on the phrase "burn Louisville" #BLM #BreonnaTaylor
First alot of the analysis @TAPSTRIMEDIA did shows a high level of astroturfing activity around the hashtags he looked at. Levels of 25% & higher & much of the initial activity stemmed from videos related to this Uhaul dropping off what appears 2b #Antifa related protest signs ImageImageImage
Here is the hoaxy analysis for the phrase "burn Louisville" that was also briefly trending on Twitter yesterday late afternoon. The cyborg / astroturfing activity was just over 31%. Normal more organic levels tend to be close to roughly 4% or less. #Louisville #BreonnaTaylor Image
