Image
Začíná se jako obvykle soutěží Imagine Cup. Všechny tři projekty, které se dostaly do finále, využívají AI v oblasti zdravotnictví. Vyhrál tým, který se zabývá pomocí dětem s poruchami sluchu. Ostatní týmy řešily rozpoznání TBC a srdečních chorob pomocí rozpoznávání zvuku. Image

Follow this🧵as we cover @SatyaNadella's opening keynote at #MSBuild
Digital transformation that was projected to happen over the next 10 years is happening today. As computing becomes embedded in every aspect of our lives, there will no longer be such a thing as the “tech sector.” The world will be transformed through tech intensity, at scale. Text reads "Tech Intensity." 3 by 3 picture grid o
In a digital-first company, the developer workflow influences how the entire company works. Fusion teams of pro developers and domain experts will be integrated across all functions and all disciplines.

So based on Microsofts "port of DirectX12 to Linux" announced at #MSBuild here is some (maybe far fetched, but hopefully not) thought/idea how this will turn out in the long run wrt drivers and will show how Open Source actually means community that benefits everyone involved.
So let's start with what we already have and what we already know:
The new Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2) uses virtualization based on Hyper-V with a Linux kernel that Microsoft maintains themselves. (Yes, Microsoft ships Linux within Windows).
One of the most asked for requests by WSL users was GPU support.
Because WSL 2 basically runs as a VM the only way to do this, was to paravirt a GPU device.
On top of that they apparently wanted to reuse as many parts of their own windows stack as possible for this.

This is the #MSBuild talk I'll be livetweeting today.
All logged in for @editingemily's talk.

I'm slightly concerned that the #MSBuild attendee login flow has what looked like at least six redirects.

"Your conference is in another castle."
Emily's the author of "DevOps For Dummies," which sadly is missing the "is for" buried in the title.

Seeing my Windows and Linux mutuals freaking out over #WSL2 announcements at #MSBuild and I have to ask: is this the end of the Win32 API? It never had a winning successor—WinForms, WPF, WinRT—and now maybe MS don’t need one, in line with desktop’s waning biz model value?
They’re bringing DirectX over.

It’s gutsy, but I anticipate irate Windows C++ devs’ blog posts by year’s end.

With #MSBuild2020 due to kick off in the next few hours, I've collected a bunch of cool announcements in the AI and chatbot space for the community.

Loads of cool new stuff being built by the @msbotframework Team.

(mega-thread)
Some of the main areas that have received updates:

- Bot Framework Composer is now GA
- Bot Framework SDK v4.9
- Azure Bot Service
- Virtual Assistant 1.0 now generally available
- Speech, Language Understanding & QnA Maker
I'm particularly interested in the new "Generated Dialog" tooling.

This lets you auto-generate Bot Framework Composer asssets from JSON schema / definition files!

Updates to Bot Framework Composer and Adaptive look awesome. Great stuff!

Counterpoint: they sent out an email suggesting you log in in an incognito tab if you’re already a Teams user.

My 20 Slack workspaces scoff dismissively.

It’s time for my #MSBuild Analyst Day thoughts on time delay.
These things are always tricky for me. "Be sure to use the #MSBuild hashtag, but remember that the contents of what you learn is embargoed."

So I'm reduced to either whining about @MicrosoftTeams, teasing the Secret Knowledge I possess, or taunting @scottgu's home office.
Most of the #MSBuild analyst chat is analysts kibbitzing with one another, trotting out the same tired jokes about how the coffee is better / worse this year.

My takeaway from this is of course that analysts are sad, lonely people who start to crack when forced to use Teams.

Uh oh.
It’s #MSBuild swag! Complete with an empty lunchbox to imply they’re going to eat mine. That sounds almost like AWS’s competitive strategy!
Somehow I know @jeffsand is responsible for this. I just need to figure out how.

The #MSBuild keynote kicks off with an ILM exec talking about the moon landing, which means another six weeks of nutters claiming it was faked.
And demo fails. Oof. I bet it would have been awesome. Hugops to #MSBuild tech folks.
Satya Nadella takes the stage. Talks about attending a Microsoft conference in the 90s and deciding to join Microsoft as a result. I get that sentiment. #MSBuild

Waiting for the #MSBuild 8:30 keynote to start, I figured I'd spend the time spinning up an @azure account. First impression: holy crap, a console that doesn't actively hate me?! What sorcery is this?
@Azure "Welcome! Here's a tour of what the console does instead of leaving you to your own devices in a Choose Your Own Adventure that ends with you declaring bankruptcy."
@Azure "Virtual Machine names are immutable once set." Boo.
"No, you can't use emoji." Double boo.
"The default image is Debian." *spit-take* I'm... I'm home!

⭐ I think my favorite thing announced at Microsoft Build this morning was Intellicode: using AI to improve contextual IntelliSense. It uses GitHub repos that have >100 stars so that you're also benefitted by best practices. Pretty sweet! #MSBuild

aka.ms/intellicodebui…
I feel like we only hear about ML/AI in the sense of computers automating processes that were held by developers, and I hadn't really been thinking about it as a developer's friend/tool.
There are a few things to unpack here- on the good side- maybe you won't have to watch all those new video tutorials to benefit from them and stay up to date! But on the other- will it create a community that's homogenous? To some extent, that's what things like prettier do, too
