Compared to pre-pandemic year 2019, entire market down by -14%. Only a few manufacturers could increase sales, #Tesla's the strongest with +37%. Ø hit of the players in the red was a whopping -29%, #Ssangyong the biggest victim with -95%.

Comparison of Q4 shows that market decelerated towards end of year: Q4/21 down -31% compared to Q4/19. Ø hit the manufacturers in the red had to suffer was -39%, e.g.
- Audi/BMW -30%

- Mercedes -35%
- VW -38%

In the 'battle' of the propulsion types, we could see 3 historic events in 2021:
- after May, #BEV's startet to leave #PHEV's behind for good
- in August, BEVs overtook the Diesels
- in December, BEVs overtook the plugless hybrids (#HEV)

August update to 🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮 #BEV % of new registered passenger cars. Thanks to @robbie_andrew from guidance to the 🇳🇴 montly figures, required some manual labour. As summary NOR is quickly approaching 60%, SWE has exceeded 15% and FIN is closing 10% by the end of 2021. 1/x
Norway is going on its own, the numbers are the future for the rest of us. Covid19 recovery was quick for #BEV, #PHEV is stable below 25%, #FCEV newer existed and #ICE is going to die during 2022. Way to go 🇳🇴 2/x

- 2016: 3,66% + 1,29% = 5%
- 2020: 12,06% + 5,11% = 17%

Compared to Q4/2019, the market is down by 14.6% in Q4/2020, with declines of up to 64% (Lexus). #Tesla increased its sales by nearly 30%.

#Bedrijfswagens trekken de vergroening v/h wagenpark. Prima. Maar een eenzijdige #BEV benadering lijkt me niet verstandig.
Als het gaat over onze dierbare #luchtkwaliteit, is er niet veel mis met #CNG, maar ook niet met een Euro6d diesel. Laat staan Euro7 binnen paar jaar. Allemaal perfect acceptabel (critici hier kijken misschien beter eens naar andere bronnen van emissies zoals houtkachels).
#CO2 en daarmee de bredere #klimaatimpact is een ander debat. Even abstractie maken van '#tailpipe' en naar #lifecycle CO2 kijken. Dan gaat het dus ook over CO2 die vrijkomt bij productie auto, en opwekking electriciteit.

Aika ajoin keskustelupalstoilla ja ICE-markkinoinnissa ponnahtaa esiin #vetyauto. Erityisesti kun perustellaan ettei kannata miettiä #BEV teknologiaa, koska kohta tulee parempi #vety. Tämä nousee varmasti esiin liikenteen sähköistyskeskustelussa.

Itse olen vannoutunut #BEV täyssähköautoilija Nissan Leaf 40 kWh autollani. Argumentit sähköautojen kelpaamattomuudesta keskivertoiselle henkilöautoilijalle tuntuvat itsestäni erikoisilta.

Ajan alle 15000 km /vuosi enkä tarvitse autoa työhöni. Kaikille nykyiset sähköautot eivät sovi, sitä en kiistä, mutta itselleni täydellisesti. Tietenkin olen sitä mieltä, että kaikki ratkaisut tarvitaan, mutta #vety ei tule menestymään henkilöautoliikenteen sähköistämisessä.

2/9 Clean fuel vehicles are coming: Hydrogen fuel cell, & #ElectricVehicles (#BEV & #PHEV) are coming sooner than we thought. Govt envisions an electric mobility future for us & is taking a lot of steps to push EVs under #FAME2 scheme. To reduce pollution & fuel import bill.
3/9 If I buy a regular petrol/diesel car, it may get obsolete sooner than I imagined. Eg: NCR banned 10yr old #diesel vehicles to improve air quality, push towards electric. All this affects resale value of the #cars. Hence, I considered pushing the life of my current car
