A long thread: In #Spare Prince Harry is just addressing and telling information. of what is already been put in the public domain by leaks, articles and books written by Royal Reports - see below of the numerous examples:
Example A : Harry’s killer count had been widely reported in the British media and it was viewed as an heroic act.
Example 1A: see all the positive headline in 2013 - he was called a hero. His kill count was previously revealed by British newspaper in 2013 Image

Colbert is very funny. #Spare #PrinceHarryMemoir
Prince Harry found a purpose in the military. A purposeful life is a life well lived.

I'm aware there are bigger issues in #SparebyPrinceHarry, but it's jarring to find Harry (or his ghostwriter) claim that Henry VI was his "great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather". Henry VI's only child was killed. In a little thing called the Wars of the Roses.
There's a whole thing in Spare about how Harry doesn't like history, and he resents his Ludgrove teacher, 'Mr Hughes-Games' for expecting him to have any particular knowledge of royal history. Fair enough. But some basic respect for factchecking would be nice.
Harry's stated disinterest in History and advertised lack of knowledge of Latin or Shakespeare also makes it all rather noticeable that elsewhere it's the ghostwriter inserting specific & pertinent history facts (e.g. this parallel with Henry IV) or translating a Latin motto.

I have so much to say and I’m only at chapter six. But I’ll start with why I’m saying anything and it’s because I, unlike many people, am qualified to speak on this. Children with dead mothers are rare. It doesn’t (thankfully) happen to many children.
Just look at this chart by @MonaChalabi. Harry and I both lost our mothers down at the end of the chart where you need to squint to even see the purple bar. The only person I knew with a dead mother when I was seven? My brother. My dad still had both his parents.
That is after all the natural order of things. But can any of you understand what that is like? You may use your imaginations and conjure up some sympathy. But I read this book and think “oh god that happened to me too”.

"In the prince’s telling, the royal family is like a cult from which he only narrowly escaped."

If Spare has a theme, it is how much Harry loathes the press. The press, he believes, killed his mother. In the best bit of writing in the book, he describes how the illumination of camera flashbulbs trapped the paparazzi’s own reflections in their photographs of the crumpled car Image
There is, frankly, not enough space here to detail how much Harry hates the press. They are “grotesque”. Journalists are “radicalised” like Taliban fighters by their editors who are like “mullahs”

In #SparebyPrinceHarry, he shared that Charles didn't want to pay for Meghan's food and clothing as a working royal because, apparently, they "do not have £ to spare," 👁👄👁 and we found RECEIPTS to confirm this revelation. Watch this space: 🧵
After combing through ALL the publicly available financial statements from the Palace, it was jarring to see how much abuse #MeghanMarkle had put up with because the royal spending went up just 1.79% the year she joined the family. To put that into context, we are looking at £89K Image
But perhaps what is more infuriating is that her cookbook initiative has raised more capital for the local community & the royal foundation than the increase in royal funding allocated for her and her husband in 2019. In 2018 alone, they sold over 130k copies 🌎... Image
