Congress is the opposite of a startup, but if I had to compare, Congress is like a startup where the exec team never stops arguing over the product roadmap.
They spend their entire year in a locked room arguing. Spending little to no time talking with their customers or front line employees to understand the issues. Burning copious amounts of cash.
They focus on parts of the roadmap that they think will impress their board and help them keep their jobs. Meanwhile their employees are furiously drafting the actual roadmap and making sure to include things that could help their careers or help them make extra side hustle.
