#warprizejiseason The Sunshot Campaign was going to be lost, and the one suffering the most was the Lan Sect; already weakened by internal strife and yet cornered again and again by the vengeful Wen Sect.

It'd been more than a decade since the previous Madam Lan ran off with LQR, and the previous Sect Leader was continuously unavailable. The current Sect Leader Lan was chosen as a last effort from amongst the branch families to lead until the 11 year old heir could be reclaimed.
Unfortunately, Madam Lan and LQR ran fast. They also hid well. The Lan cultivators pursuing them only once managed to drive them into a corner, but even so, the 11 year old heir, LXC, could not be reclaimed.

Anyway, the dragon form is very good for killing his enemies, protecting his friends, and defending his territory! Yay!

a beautiful young lan disciple tied by his wrists to the tent pole, gazing off in the distance as if he didn't notice wwx come in so wwx removes the top half of his armor and begins washing himself by the water basin

a closer look at the young man and sees the charred hem of his robes and determines he must have been protecting the great library before the wen soldiers set fire to it and that's why he won't talk to wwx, who actually took no part in it but doesn't try to gain any pity points
hear me out, #warprizejiseason but with a Cinderella style twist—The Wen Sect succeeds in taking over, and all other sects must now defer to them; along with the once prestigious Lan Sect, they have all been reduced to servants. The Wen kingdom now rules the land.
Wwx and Lwj used to be childhood friends, as Wwx had come to the cloud recesses to study, and they were close until the ear—when Wwx disappeared—after that the war was won quickly and Lwj was forced to serve the Wens, as Wen Xu’s personal servant. Then the rumours start.
Stories of this man in black and red who resides in the burial grounds, who is capable of wielding the dead and well the Wens want him, he sounds like the perfect weapon, to expand their empire past the sects, and to make sure, no one tries to revolt. So they sent an invitation.

WRH is outraged, but given that the Wen themselves controlled Yiling, he can't solidly pin it on any other sect.

Thinking about #WarprizeJiSeason crack. Where the Wen and Jin sects hatch a plan to kidnap LWJ and deliver him to YLLZ so he will stay out of the war and leave them alone to their machinations.
Except they are terrible at sneaking up on HGJ. LWJ sees them trying with ropes and binding talismans a mile away and just nopes the fuck out before they can even get close

lwj has been living with wen xu for two years, and it has been nothing but fruitless and humiliating. while wen xu is not as overtly cruel as his younger brother, he likes to make lwj do things for him, such as handfeed him or sit in his lap during meetings with the lan.
he gives lwj the title of 'noble consort'. an empty title, really. lwj has little to no control over wen xu's harem; as it turns out, prisoners of war are far more concerned with helping their own families than cooperating with their sibling-consorts. still, lwj tries.
Okay-- another #WarprizeJiSeason idea: WWX, at the end of all possible choices, Shijie dead, the Wens gone, his reputation in tatters, activates the one enormous array he kept hidden from all. Time-space travel magic.

Fed up, YLLZ randomly snatches a bunny from the CR at the end of the meeting, declares it his prize, and leaves.

As he is thrown into a basket and carried off as a warprize, Bunji, who was injured during the last skirmish and hasn't been able to shift back into his human form, is now greatly regreting hanging around the meeting hall to learn what the Big Bad YLLZ had to say.
Also LXC tries to convince that the YLLZ didnt ACTUALLY take LWJ as his warprize and would probably be willing to give him back in exchange for an actual rabbit. He fails.

The egg that he lay by a twist of fate was in the Cloud Recesses during the Wen attack. It was viable, it was going to be his child, he had already chosen names and made a seventy step plan for its future-- it's been missing for more than a year.
Dragon eggs are highly resilient. They can be layed by any single dragon; with or without a mate. If viable, it can last for a long time without any attention by hibernating in a hard shell. And when it receives the warmth of a prospective parent, it can hatch in a few months.

He arrives at the burial mounds much later that planned and is told by a small angry woman that his presence is neither sought nor wanted. Lan Zhan being quite stubborn in nature merely sits down and meditates just outside of the arrays.
It takes 24 hours for his new husband to make himself known to him. He looks cross and pouty but very handsome. Lan Zhan bows and asks to be allowed entrance. After looking him up and down, his betrothed nods and stomps off. Lan Zhan follows as soon as the arrays are removed.
