My kid has #asthma & a severe, life-threatening dairy #allergy. We’ve been fought by @wilcoxprincipal and now @TwinsburgSupt every step of the way to get our child a section 504 plan. I want my kid alive with access to aninhaler, not dead with a law named after him. #disability
This is a story about how school district administration will fight you every step of the way when all you want them to do is comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (#ADA), #IDEA, or #Rehabilitation Act. It’s a story about intentional delay and confusion they sow.
First, the school’s principal Mrs. Villa Turner and school nurse tried to talk us out of a 504 plan. They discouraged it saying an unenforceable “health plan” would be sufficient because the staff deals with this all the time and is “trained.” More on “trained” later.

She was speaking of EpiPen and a lot of other things at the same time. Kind of like how she tweets at times.🙂

You might remember headlines like this one that were telling us about companies coming out with generic versions of their $$$$ brand-name drugs. We saw this for #insulin #hepatitisC and #epipen over the past few years. 2/7

These are "authorized generics" which are when a brand company takes off the brand name but the drug is exactly the same. In these cases, the generic product came out way before patents were expired. 3/7

Joe Manchin's daughter is behind the EpiPen greed. Neera Tanden rightly criticized her for stealing Americans' life savings to stay alive.
Chicago Tribune: "According to SEC filings, [her] total compensation went from $2.4 million to $18.9 million from 2007 to 2015. A 671% increase. That period coincides with the time when Mylan acquired the rights to EpiPens and hiked the wholesale price from about $55 to $320."
In other words, he should be referred to henceforth as Joe "EpiPen" Manchin.
