2/9 Last time UK houses were so expensive vs earnings was the year 1876

They were even more expensive previously…

What happened to change things? More houses, smaller houses, higher incomes.

The UK HPI May 2020 estimates will be published on 2nd September, June 2020 on 16th September, July 2020 on 7th October and August 2020 on 21st October, bringing the UK HPI back on the usual publication schedule (2/3) #houseprices
It is worth remembering that it takes roughly 6-8 weeks for a house to go from offer to a completed transaction. Therefore, the first few UK HPI publications are likely to be based on house sales agreed before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold (3/3) #houseprices
