This particular day we spent almost 7 hours with this #lion called Bob Marley (notice the dreads under his mane). He would get up every 20 minutes or so and dig the burrow deeper. We had to be ready throughout as the warthog in the burrow could dash out any moment. 2/4
It was coming to the end of the day and we were almost losing hope when it started raining heavy. Bob Marley used this to his advantage as the burrow filled with water and he started splashing the water inside the burrow which confused the #warthogs and made them rush out. 3/4

@BunduRovers
We used some backroutes crossing through several counties aiming for Rimoi National Reserve for our first night (because the highways are too mainstream). Anyways, we are a 4x4 club so...

Six years had passed since my last visit to Amboseli. I couldn't wait any longer. So when Uhuru gave us the uhuru to leave Nai, I got together with three friends & headed to Kilimanjaro's forecourt.

An elephant attack & other stories from #Amboseli.

Our first stop was Kalekye's in Emali for fruits and veggies that @mumbi_muturi @joshkisamwa @truthslinger and I would enjoy during our 4-day, 3-night camping trip.

The juice from the oranges drips to your elbow! πŸŠπŸ˜‹ ImageImageImageImage
After an early lunch in Kimana, we entered Amboseli through the Kimana Gate, set up camp at the co-named KWS Campsite, and headed for our first game drive at 1500hrs. ImageImageImageImage

Mindukras or #upperdeckpeopleKE, the people who ridiculed the arts and social sciences as irrelevant to the market, are now surprised that Kenyans are stigmatizing people who have been affected by covid.

Let me school you about why Kenyans are stigmatizing and mocking them.
1. We're helpless. Kenya is run by a corrupt president whose current preoccupation is not our health, but fixing any alternative voices and getting his bureaucrats international jobs. He gives a rat's ass about us. The healthcare system is privatized and we don't trust it anyway.
We're getting lectures on what to do, what we're not doing, but at the back of our minds, except for the governors who have private ICU beds, we're basically not sure we'll get tested or treated.

If you had done the arts, you would know that satire is the laughter of despair.

Najib Balala announces that Kenya Wildlife Services KWS, game park fees and reserves have been slashed by 50% and it applies to all categories - Local, residents and international.

Let me wait for the gazetted version. #magicalkenya #tourism Image
I need a mathematician... what is the 50% game park & reserves fee reduction Najib Balala is talking about? And then it is effective from 1st July and ends 30th June 2021... Check the seasons, already 2020 is gone, mkubwa, reduce visa charges, extend it to 31st December 2021. Image
We know Tourism has been hard hit by Covid-19, Kenya has to come up with entizing packages to attract the market.

Kenyans

We have to understand that this government doesnt have any policy in mind apart from tourism and real estate. And in 1961, Frantz Fanon warned us that the evidence of the intellectual bankruptcy of our elites is their obsession with the relaxation of wazungu.
To focus on the relaxation of foreigners and the dollars they will bring, the native elites behave as if we Africans don't exist. Whether we're being murdered, we're getting sick, the job of GoK is to put a front to the rest of the world that Kenya is open for dollars.
In 2008 during PEV, the government and the media was not worried about Kenyans being killed; it was worried that tourists might see us fighting and think we're n---'s like other African countries. When PEV ended, Kibaki's first job was to wash Kenya's reputation for tourists.
