The Advocate General made the exit-Brexit decision look easy /1

His view that #Art50 is unilaterally revocable is so strongly argued and expressed that it is hard to see the full Court taking a radically different view /2

But don’t forget that the Commission and the EU 27 Member States (through the Council, from whose position not one of them chose to dissent) all argued in #CJEU that Art 50 was NOT unilaterally revocable/3

While the UK Govt sought to avoid a ruling, then sat on the fence /4

I know from long experience how hard it is hard to shift the #CJEU -or even the Advocate General - when the Commission and all intervening Member States are of the other mind /5

So massive credit goes to the politicians who brought this case, and to the lawyers who fought it on their behalf: @JolyonMaugham, @mayaejlester and all the others /6

They stood alone and already have much to be proud of /7

I hope the full court follows the AG in w/c 17 Dec, as rumoured, and that they get to put their feet up over the festive season /8

And I hope that the Commons takes note that there is a way out of the bad dream in which we are currently trapped #PeoplesVote /end
