I've been thinking a lot about this thread on @NancyPelosi and #impeachment since I posted it and about stuff that's happened since.

And I've changed my mind, though I still stand by all the bits past the baby sloth.

I've been thinking about the last two years, where we are now, and where we're going.

Like many of you, I'm used to things moving very slowly. The last two years, they've been running at breakneck speed toward the edge of a cliff.

They're not slowing down, so we can't either.

Michelle Obama said, "Being president doesn't change who you are; it reveals who you are."

She's right.

Trump never hid who he was. Not ever. He never had to. He was in a position where he could always be the way he is—selfish, narcissistic, and greedy—and it paid off.

And if you try to remove power from someone like that, they'll do ANYTHING to keep it. Threaten, oppress, and even kill. Look at mobsters. (That's easy—they're running our country right now). Look at other countries with dictatorships.

A lot of people have been saying "We have to wait." I said it too.

I couldn't stop thinking that trying to impeach Trump would be futile. With the GOP-controlled Senate and Bitch McTurtle blocking, it won't happen. After two years of never-ending shit, I got stuck on that.

I thought if we tried it and failed, that we would hurt our chances in 2020, that a failure would make us look weak and we'd never recover.

But I missed something, and @sarahkendzior and @andreachalupa wisely pointed it out on their podcast, @gaslitnation.

To paraphrase, even if we can't impeach him, THE TRUTH WOULD BE OUT THERE. In public for all to see. And every single one of us would see it for ourselves.

This is what I missed. I had my eye on the pie, and I ignored the ingredients.

So yeah, I've changed my mind. I think @SpeakerPelosi and the House should push for impeachment, and the sooner the better.

(I also think that with everybody doubling down all the time, being able to change your mind should be considered a motherfucking superpower.)

Looking forward to 2020, we should keep this in mind. It's way past bipartisanship; we have to take sides. We can't wait for someone to save us--there isn't anyone.

I think the Mueller report will show a lot, and Trump will fight like hell to stay where he is if he's indicted.

The GOP will help him because they're complicit. Comparisons to the outcome with Nixon aren't totally apt. The GOP in those days was not so horrifically compromised.

You cannot negotiate with them now—on ANYTHING—because THEY DO NOT CARE.

We showed what we can do in midterms. Let's keep that #BlueWave 🌊going. Let's push for this.

Candidates, get on board!

This is our country, not theirs. It's not Russia's. It's not Trump's. It belongs to us, and if they can't work for us like we hired them to do, they need to go. That means everybody.

I want my tax money back. I want my country back. Let's take out the trash.
