It is very easy to say you are against war in #Venezuela... we all are.

The reality though is that war came to Venezuela, and has been there for a while. A war of opression, tyranny, criminality, and death. It was not brought by the US, but by the Cubans and the Maduro regime.
2. What some policy makers don't get is that supporting the Maduro regime is not standing up against Trump or against war.

It is rather standing up for the worst kind of war and in support of the very regime that brings death to its own people...
3. In 1940 the majority of americans were against the War. This in essence was tacit support to Hitler and his atrocities. If you think my rational is binary and antagonistic, ask Desmond Tutu what it took to end apartheid.
4. He rightly said "if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppresor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."
5. What some folks that have never set foot in Venezuela don't get is that the elephant here is a murderous state supported by guns and Cuban spies. The mice, of course 30 million Venezuelans facing a dire humanitarian crisis.
6. The US might be the hunter that aims to shoot off the elephant in this case. Nobody wants to see dead elephants... except maybe for murderous ones who step on mice?

Polarization sometimes deprives us of our basic common sense. An in this case common sense is labeld as pro-war
7. Nonsense! says the mouse.

Nonsense! said Mandela, Tutu and their people.

Nonsense! said the British when their island was bombed into oblivion.

Nonsense! would have said the many who were silenced in the Nazi concentration camps.

Nonsense! say WE the Venezuelan People.
