GOP Sen Graham: Trump saying he’d take dirt from hostile foreign nationals (like Russia) is a “mistake of law.” Graham adds Director Wray is right about calling FBI b/c it’s election interference. (FWIW Graham cushions his criticism w/hefty dose of whataboutism re Steele dossier)
By “mistake of law” Graham is saying Trump is wrong about the law; that he doesn’t know that taking foreign dirt is illegal. That too is BS. Of course he knows. But claiming inexperience & ignorance to excuse outrageous & criminal behavior is a favorite GOP propaganda talking pt.
🙄Like Stupid Groundhog Day, McCarthy repeats Graham’s whataboutism & gaslighting propaganda re Dossier. GOP slam Steele as a “paid foreign agent,” likening a fmr spy for our closest ALLY—whose work protected our national security for years—to Trump saying he’d take Russian dirt.
