They have names like “Veterans Against islamic Filth” and “Americans Against Mosques.”

7/ In New Jersey, prison guard Joseph Bonadio posted insults about the Prophet Mohammad and shared memes of roasting pigs with the message “Happy Ramadan.”

8/ “Infidel,” by the way, is used as a popular dog-whistle term among Islamophobes online.
9/ In Georgia, retired cop Claude Stevens Jr. railed against Muslims for months, posting conspiracy theories and Islamophobic memes.
10/ Inside the @facebook groups we examined, members often traffic in disproven theories that Muslims are invading the United States and plan to impose Sharia law, and that this “Muslimification” has already happened across much of Europe.
11/ Often, though, members just express their disgust at a religion practiced by about a quarter of the world’s population.
