Thanks to #US Government, especially President Joe Biden, #Taliban terrorists have now at-least 21 operational helicopters & six airworthy aircraft! Some of them including these six Mi-17V-5 helicopters participated in Taliban's parade at #Bagram Air Base, #Afghanistan today!
Large number of #US made M1117 Armored Security Vehicles & International MaxxPro MRAPs during #Taliban's military parade in #Bagram Air Base, North of #Kabul, capital city of #Afghanistan today.
Remember those two Cessna 208 Grand Caravns #Taliban captured in #Shindand air base. Here they are flying over #Bagram air base duiring Taliban's parade today.

A few interesting things spotted in the Taliban parade in #Bagram today.

1st of all, Scuds! Several 9P117 TEL complete with the 8K14 liquid-fuelled missiles of the 9K72 Elbrus ballistic missile system, better known to us as the SS-1C Scud-B. These are ancient & non-functional.
Some more sensible indirect fire assets- several 9P140 launcher vehicles of the BM-27 220mm MRL system. Much like the Scud-B, ancient, and I doubt there is any rockets to be found that could work.

However, the 122mm Grad MRL and 122mm D-30 howitzers could be feasible.
When it comes to aircraft- nothing new by now- Mi-24, Black Hawk, Mi-17/171, and Little Birds. All ex ANA and very well covered so no need to delve into these.

1. If the reports are true that the #ChineseCommunists have occupied the US base at #Bagram, #Afghanistan @POTUS @JoeBiden's @WhiteHouse must confirm it. First, I have a rule about reporting. If I know something about a US operation that is not publically known, including
2. being known to our adversaries, I won't post it. My dad covered the Chinese Civil War for the @AP and my mom, who witnessed it, and I often discussed the ethics of reporting in a war zone, and I'm confident that the US press corps is not obligated to report things that might
3. harm national security. My general rule is, if the enemy knows, then the US people generally have a right to know. Besides the terrorists, the #ChineseCommunists are as close to an enemy as we currently have. And if they are in Bagram they certainly know it and our confirming

#Britain has stopped evacuating #Afghans and is now moving to wind down its military presence in Kabul.
The #ISKP attack yesterday was the most lethal attack on #US troops in Afghanistan in a decade, and in 2011 the US was engaged in offensive operations - something that could be called "a war" - which it has not been since 2014.
The casualty figures for the US security presence low, and the benefit - providing key capacities that sustained the Afghan state, which bore the brunt of the fight to keep the jihadists at bay - was very significant. All lost now, for no reason.

1. What was actually required by #45's Taliban deal? Best I can tell they used the date on the agreement as the effective date. It begins with a guarantee complete withdrawal of "all foreign forces." That's not happening.
My analysis:
2/29/2020 Effective date; in 14 months all
2. non-diplomatic US persons had to withdraw. That meant we agreed to get out by June 1, 2021.

After February 29, 2020 & by July 13, 2020 US & Coalition had to reduce force to 8,600 & withdraw from "five (5) military bases." I don't know for certain that included #Bagram
3. but I can't imagine they meant five small bases in remote areas. I need to follow up to determine what if any bases were contemplated or closed in response to the clause.
The @POTUS #45 deal required US & Coalition to withdraw "all remaining forces . . . within 9.5 months."

Do you remember #Janabi? Abir Al Janabi. A 14-year-old #Iraqi girl. In 2006, Janabi's father stopped sending Janabi to school in fear of the #US Army's focus on his daughter. The Army who was establihing "#democracy" and "#human rights" in Iraq. 1/32
Janabi used to stay at home, spending her days of adolescence playing with her younger siblings.
The U.S. military's security checkpoint was located just 200 meters from Janabi's house. One day, a #USsoldier notices Janabi. And Janabi and her family were doomed right then. 2/32
For a few days at first, the #soldiers repeatedly came to Janabi's house in the name of search and made ugly gestures towards her. One day the four #armies decided that today they would be the day to enjoy Jamabai and kill some #Muslims. 3/32

Very consistent pattern of reports about #Taliban behaviour that we have now. Needless to say it does not match what the Taliban have been presenting in these first few days in the interview with a female journalist (who has now been purged) or in their press conferences.

Ennesimo thread sull’#Afghanistan.

When USA and Nato invaded Afghanistan post 9|11 they then helped form a government made up from warlords and criminals who were the ones responsible for the damage and deaths of countless of people. All that aid went to the pockets of these warlords. Image
The people had lost trust in the corrupt government. It's no secret that large number of army and police recruits were drug addicts. The army still some very patriotic soldiers however it's the leadership and warlords which is corrupt.
The best solution here for the Afghan people is if there is a peace deal between the two parties and fighting stops. But I highly doubt that TB will push for that now that they have made such gains and will have the upper hand in the negotiation table. May Allah bring peace.

Catastrophic 72hrs for #Afghanistan, as the #Taliban capture 5 provincial capitals -- taking military bases, airports, emptying prisons etc.

The U.S. (then NATO) withdrawal is clearly an utter disaster, but that ship has sailed -- muted response from #Washington says everything.
#Taliban control in #Afghanistan:

Mid-April: 77 districts:
Early-August: 229 districts

Nearly 50% of provincial capitals are now under #Taliban threat.

@LongWarJournal NEW -- Early reports emerging that the #Taliban may have just captured its 6th provincial capital in 4 days: #Aybak, in #Samangan.

At my count, the #Taliban have captured 30+ districts across #Afghanistan in 48hrs -- 100s of #ANA forces have surrendered & handed over bases, arms depots, weapons & vehicles.

The pace of the #Taliban's advance since the U.S. withdrawal announcement is shocking.
According to @oryxspioenkop, the #ANA has handed over 83 U.S-provided Humvees to the #Taliban in the past 3 days alone.

Over the past 3 weeks: 149 Humvees.

Meaningful numbers of howitzers have been surrendered too.
@oryxspioenkop Since the U.S. withdrawal announcement, the #Taliban has taken control of 75+ districts across #Afghanistan -- that's ~20% of the country.

The most movement has been in the north -- in Faryab & Kunduz, where the #Taliban now enjoy almost unchallenged freedom of movement.

They are called #WarCrimes and there is a reason you can’t judge them...

It was your national lack of morality & injustice that facilitated torture @ #AbuGharab & #Bagram.

Sadly, they still believe they have a supreme moral authority over the world.
