I can now load _basically_ every atom from an entire bacterial cell, into #blender3d and #geometrynodes via #molecularnodes. Each macromolecule is down to atomic detail where available via CellPack, totalling ~250,000,000 points, all rendering (quite quickly) in Cycles #b3d A 3D rendering of the inside of a Mycoplasma Genitaliam cell
Again this is the fabulous dataset from CellPack (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34774566/) by @MartinaMaritan
@MartinaMaritan I'm very much looking forward to making some cool animations now that I it's all inside of and manipulateable by #geometrynodes. @JacquesLucke this isn't quite on the scale of the human cells in the Blender HQ, but it's getting pretty close!

Aaand another tree ! Used a different method here but still using #geometrynodes

Here are the nodes ! The second one is within the LeavesWind groups ImageImage
Oh and don't forget to get the UVs back in the leaves shader (mixed with 2 noises here to add variety) Image

The geometry nodes hexmap generator (based on @stavridisc's work) is now available for free via gumroad gum.co/gnhexmap #b3d #blender #geometrynodes
here's a couple of stills, currently there's 5 example color palettes but they can be extended/edited in the materials. This uses a simple nodegroup (8 slots) to switch between color ramps but more can be added with easily ImageImageImageImage

Here's the render of the #geometrynodes tree! Will add some node screenshots and maybe some explanations as well. #b3d
First a basic node group. It takes a Curve Line and attaches two more Curve Lines on the End Point of the original. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L-system for more! Image
Since we don't have a way to iterate in a easy way we just chain a bunch of L-System Groups one after another. I vary rotation and scale and calulate the curve radius. I chained 5 Iterations together. So I can iterate in steps of 5. This makes it a little easier later. Image

A collection of #geometrynodes tips and tricks (full node-tree + optional demo video)

Starting with a simple but very useful value-loop. Can tweak the RGB curve from the current linear behavior to your preferred setup.

#b3d
Can also add your tweening function in between.

Here using cx^2 + (1-c)x

(for more details about tweening see: )

#nodevember2021 day 3-4, 4-sided

3D recursive subdivision in geometry-nodes. A popular one, but was a good exercise for me to do it purely in GN after old work in AN

#nodevember2021 day 3-4, 4-sided

Just more subdivisions. Interesting to see the approach from @FaustXins and @Bbbn192. Better randomness (and cleaner node-tree), but not sure how it would work in pure 3D subdiv.

Recreated my latest #sverchok experiment in #geometrynodes. Thickness and Bevel are added through modifiers.

Which current #blender alpha branch has the extrude node for geometrynodes? I only saw it in the fields branch.

#Procedural slicing with #geometrynodes in #blender.
I used the latest modifier-alpha-branch to add the thickness in the nodetree. Bevel and weighted normals are applied as modifers.
Works well on continuous meshes.
And here are some nodes! ImageImage
